Wooooooo, exciting stuff this
week! Once your riding straps have passed inspection you get to mount
your dragon (Yep, put that strength training to use)& can ride around the bowl. You /must/ keep them on the ground, no exceptions. If you choose to disregard this & fly your dragon anyhow, not only will your dragon be moved to the infirmary (which will cause you to fall behind in your lessons) but your dragon will be set so it can't fly for well after the others are allowed to. You will begin learning about formations as well. Why drills? Why formations? Well, it would be chaos trying to move a group of weyrlings & dragons from point A to B without having some type of organized way to do it, thus - formations.
